Request to Add Expectancy Metric in Trading Journal

Hi Team,

I hope you’re doing well.

First of all, I really appreciate the effort you’ve put into building the trading journal. The Profit Factor feature is very useful for evaluating overall system performance.

I would like to suggest adding one more important metric called “Expectancy”, which can further enhance the effectiveness of the journal.

What is Expectancy?
Expectancy helps traders understand the average profit or loss per trade. It gives a clear idea of whether a trading system is actually profitable over time.

Simple Formula:
Expectancy = (Win Rate × Average Win) – (Loss Rate × Average Loss)

Why it is important:

  • It shows how much a trader can expect to earn (or lose) per trade on average

  • It helps in evaluating if a strategy has a real edge

  • Even with a low win rate, a system can be profitable if expectancy is positive

  • It complements Profit Factor by giving a more practical, per-trade insight

For example, two traders can have the same Profit Factor, but very different expectancy — which directly impacts long-term growth.

Adding this metric will help users make better decisions and understand their trading performance more deeply.

Hope you consider this suggestion. Looking forward to future updates!
